Pittsburgh, PA, September 1, 2009 - At an awards ceremony last week hosted by the Pittsburgh Business Times, Plextronics, Inc. was named the third fastest-growing manufacturing company in Pittsburgh and the fourteenth-fastest-growing company citywide. The company's materials and inks, which are developed at its headquarters in Hamar, PA, enable the mass production of printed electronic devices, such as low-cost organic solar cells and high-efficiency lighting.

In an accompanying Pittsburgh Business Times article, Plextronics is credited with “staying calm” during tough economic times.  When asked about how the recession has changed the company’s strategy, Plextronics’ CEO Andy Hannah said, “We haven’t changed our growth strategy at all during the recession. For Plextronics, it’s about staying focused on the fundamentals of our business and making smart decisions about the future of our company. The recession has had little, if any, impact on our strategy.”
